It looks as though the spring of 2009 will be a great time to catch up on mystery reading. There are a lot of great new mystery books due to be released, as well as the latest incarnations of some classic mystery favorites.
Jeffrey Archer’s "Paths of Glory" revolves around a years old unsolved mystery involving a climb of Mt. Everest that was inspired by a true story.
New York's bestselling author Harlan Coben releases his 9th Myron Bolitar mystery, entitled "Long Lost," at the end of March and of his fans simply cannot wait for the progression of Bolitar's journey.
Mystery fan favorite James Patterson releases "Max," which is the 5th of his 'Maximum Ride' series. Early reviews have deemed "Max" a masterpiece that will definitely be transformed into a motion picture. Patterson is also set to release "The 8th Confession" in April.
J. D. Robb always delivers hits with her futuristic mystery thrillers about a police lieutenant named Eve Dallas and her extremely rich husband Roarke. Robb's newest release, "Promises in Death" delivers all of the mystery and suspense that is to be expected.
Anne Perry releases her 16th William Monk mystery in "Execution Dock" at the end of the month, satisfying the appetite of die hard 'Monk' fans.
Award winning mystery author Laura Lippman recently released "Life Sentences," about a writer that delves into her past to solve a mystery.
Laura Childs released her 10th Theodosia Browning mystery in "Oolong Dead."
Two other fan favorites, Iris Johansen and Mary Higgins Clark, have new books out in April, entitled "Deadlock" and "Just Take My Heart." With so many great mysteries to read, finding the time to read them all may be the only problem mystery book fans face in 2009.
