Lilian Braun

Lillian Jackson Braun was born in the year 1913 and began writing mystery novels in the year 1966. Braun is a very private woman and does not like her personal business in the minds of others.

Braun worked as a editor for 29 years prior to her mystery writing career. Braun became well-known for her Jim Qwillearn Feline Whodunnit, also known as, “The Cat Who” series, which has a total of 30 titles. The first one was "The Cat who Could Read Backwards" in 1996 and the last novel is "The Cat Who Smelled Smoke" in 2009.

After rising to the top with her great Jim Qwillearn Feline Whodunnit series, Braun took a break for a total of 18 long years. In the year 1986 she came back with the Berkley Publishing Group and released the fourth novel of the series named "The Cat Who Saw Red." Braun did not only write series, she also wrote short stories as well. For instance, in the year 1998, she wrote "The Cat Who Had 14 Tales," "The Private Life of The Cat Who…" in 2003 etc. In January of 2007, Braun wrote novel 29 in the series called "The Cat who has 60 whiskers," which was published by the Penguin Group.

Lillian Jackson Braun is currently married to Earl Betting and they reside in North Carolina. Just as many other novelist still uses the typewriters for their writings, so does she. There is not much that the public knows about this wonderful woman except that her life is a mystery.
