Thomas Perry

Thomas Perry was born in 1947 in Tonawonda, New York. He is now living in South Carolina with his wife and two daughters. Most people may know Thomas Perry as a mystery or science fiction writer. They would be right, but he also held many jobs before that.

For instance he was a laborer, commercial fisherman, maintenance man, weapons mechanic, University teacher and administrator and finally a producer writer for television. He did shows like Simon and Simon, 21 Jump Street and Star trek the next generation. He has completed 16 novels and is in the process of creating another one due out in January of 2009.

His novels have won recognition in the industry. His first novel The Butchers boy, won the Edgar award in 1983, given to him by the Mystery writers of America. This book is about a big time Mafia hit man who finds himself on the other end of the hit list. He was also recognized by the New York Times for the most notable book of the year. This book was titled Metzger's Dog. This book is about a man breaking into a pharmaceutical lab and finding documents belonging to the CIA. He is holding them for ransom and they need to get them back.

Thomas Perry's writing style has been said to be of comic thriller. He has learned how to add humor to the most suspenseful parts of life. He keeps the reader attention with perfectly placed remarks, while at the same time keeping their anxiety up.
